MENDOCINO CO., 5/20/25 — An interactive classical music performance will be making its mark Sunday at Campovida in Hopland, a 100-acre winery and farm known for its bucolic views and tranquil atmosphere.
“IN A LANDSCAPE: Classical Music in the Wild” is a unique classical music tour performed by Oregon-born Hunter Noack, a graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
He has performed with the National Symphony Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, San Diego Symphony, Fort Worth Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra and Oregon Symphony, alongside his life partner and fellow pianist Thomas Lauderdale.
Noack’s debut album, “IN A LANDSCAPE,” released in June 2022 by Heinz Records, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Traditional Classical Albums chart.
Noack, who grew up kayaking and fishing in the charming nature of Oregon, created the “IN A LANDSCAPE” tour, which will make stops in dozens of locations throughout the Pacific Northwest to emphasize the connection between music and nature. At Noack’s shows, he performs on a 9-foot Steinway concert grand piano on stages located in nature.
Another unique aspect of Noack’s performances is that attendees listen through wireless headphones, allowing them to wander grassy fields and experience the music while exploring nature. The “IN A LANDSCAPE” tour has already presented 300 performances since it was first created in 2016.
The “IN A LANDSCAPE: Classical Music in the Wild” performance will take place at Campovida, 13601 Old River Road in Hopland, on Sunday, May 25. Gates open at 4 p.m., and the performance will run from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Attendees should bring their own foldable chairs and blankets. Tickets are $45 per person and can be purchased by visiting this link.
