MENDOCINO Co., 9/15/19 — The recently formed community organization, called 100 Women Strong, held its September event in Willits last week, and after pitching in $100 each and listening to three different non-profits, the local women in attendance selected the Ukiah Valley Trail Group (UVTG) to receive the night’s collection.
The UVTG was one of three non-profits that pitched their organization at the Willits Center for the Arts to the group of local woman that compose 100 Women Strong, although at this event the number was closer to 150. The other non-profits participating were Nuestra Alizana de Willits, which provides support and resources to Latino families in the Willits area, and “Raise and Shine Mendocino,” which supports the Imagination Library program, which supports early learning. 100 Women Strong has previously selected the Cancer Resource Centers of Mendocino County and the National Alliance for Mental Illness to receive funds at their first two events.
