UKIAH, CA., 3/20/26 — Ukiah Unified School District announced Wednesday that Dr. Analese Alvarez, principal of Ukiah High School, will not be returning for the 2026-27 school year as she plans to pursue professional opportunities in Southern California to be closer to family. Alvarez will continue to serve through the end of the school year and will support efforts to ensure a smooth leadership transition.
“Dr. Alvarez has served our students and staff with dedication and professionalism,” said Superintendent Deb Kubin. “We appreciate her commitment to the school community and her continued leadership during this transition period.”
District leaders will conduct a comprehensive search in the coming weeks, and said that school programs and operations will continue as planned, with a focus on maintaining stability and continuity for students and families.

No one saw that coming!!… 😂
Seriously hilarious
Is that a male or a female? Serious question.
Article says stepping down from his post. But continue reading says she. Now we know why are kids are confused.
I guess they need a proof reader….hmmmm??!?
I wouldn’t care except all her/his school family newsletters were such BS about loving the job and the community. Why can’t people just say they’re here to make a living. Why do teachers/school admins have to pretend they’re super humans that love every second of their work. Not everything has to be sugar coated. One of the most off putting things about sending my kids through the school system is never knowing if a teacher is serious or just virtue signaling. I can’t imagine being a school principal is as magical as her letters addressing the community made it seem. These school administrators need to stop with the front facing fakeness, and start teaching kids about what they’re about to face in the real world.
