FORT BRAGG, CA., 3/21/26 – The city of Fort Bragg is asking residents, businesses and visitors to weigh in on how food trucks should operate as officials consider possible updates to local regulations.
The survey is open now through March 31. City officials say the feedback will help shape recommendations for food truck operations, including where they should be allowed, how many should operate, and what impacts they may have on neighborhoods and existing businesses.
The survey asks participants about how often they use food trucks, perceived benefits such as expanded dining options and affordability, and concerns including parking, traffic, noise and competition with brick-and-mortar restaurants. It also seeks input on preferred locations, amenities, and whether the number of vendors should be limited.
Results will be reviewed at a special meeting of the Community Development Committee scheduled for April 15 at 5:30 p.m. at Fort Bragg Town Hall. The committee’s discussion is expected to inform recommendations that will later go before the Fort Bragg City Council for consideration in May.
Current rules allow food trucks to operate in designated downtown locations and on private property with permission. Officials say the survey is intended to guide potential changes as the city evaluates how food trucks fit into the local economy and community.

The only scenario that makes sense is a designated food truck center where multiple trucks can operate together and provide an ada bathroom where you can wash your hands and they have to pay taxes.
I couldn’t imagine being a struggling brick and mortar restaurant that pays insurance/taxes provides clean restrooms and then watches a truck set up across the street and charge the same price for food. This drives out local restaurants and will create a ghost town effect.
^^^this guy 🙄🙄🙄 I would LOVE to see more food options in Fort Bragg! They are affordable and honestly the most delicious food in Fort Bragg. I couldn’t believe when they ran off the black-owned truck next to Figuerido’s a few years ago. My dad is from New Orleans and it was the best food I’ve ever had in the state of California. You guys are being way too hard nosed about change. How is it POSSIBLY affecting you, truly? Signed -a dedicated member of our community
If you think these brick and mortar restaurants are not creating a ghost town you’re very wrong. Locals cannot afford $50 entrees. We can barely afford to survive. Get your head right.
Also, if you think they’re not insured and constantly fined and harassed that makes YOU specifically the problem. Mind your own business
Thanks for your childish rant, feedback from the community means opinions that aren’t yours, ya poor baby.
A dedicated food truck court is typically the best way to accommodate these trucks in a safe classy way that uplifts the area, it’s fun to go to a food truck court and have a few food options all together with tables and bathrooms.
Imagine if we had liquor store/cigarette trucks parked around town you would think it’s amazing. How about gun trucks? Cannabis dispensary trucks? Why do food trucks get some magical pass?
Putting food trucks right in the downtown strip of any town is ugly! Food trucks don’t offer cheap food or some amazing service to the community, it’s a business. There are plenty of cheap brick and mortar places that charge the same as a food truck. Keep trucks off out of our downtowns in Mendocino county!
