UPDATE, 1/6/25 – Caltrans announced Tuesday afternoon that Highway 128 has reopened near west of Navarro after flooding caused dangerous road conditions, resulting in the highway’s closure on Monday. Drive carefully!

MENDOCINO CO., 1/5/25 – A portion of state Highway 128 is closed in Anderson Valley due to flooding Monday, said Caltrans.

Highway 128 is closed from its junction with state Highway 1 to the Flynn Creek Bridge, just west of Flynn Creek Road and Navarro.

Motorists can use Comptche-Ukiah Road or Mountain View Road as alternate routes to reach Anderson Valley from Highway 1.

The closure comes as a storm continues to inundate the region with rain and wind.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Navarro River has began to flood the roadway. The river is expected to reach its flood stage of 23 feet around 11 p.m.

No estimated time of reopening has been provided by Caltrans.

Caltrans asks motorists to track current road conditions at https://roads.dot.ca.gov/ or by calling 1 (800) 427-7623.
