National Weather Service Eureka graphic warns of cold morning conditions Thursday and Friday, Jan. 8–9, with overnight lows listed by city and safety tips for infants, seniors, pets, and pipes.

MENDOCINO CO., 11/22/25 – The National Weather Service office in Eureka issued a cold weather advisory Thursday for southeastern Mendocino County.

The advisory is in effect from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. Friday and includes Redwood Valley, Talmage, Hopland and Ukiah. Southern Lake County is also included.

Temperatures as low as 26 degrees are possible, the weather service said.

“Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure,” the weather service said. Residents are urged to check on family, friends and neighbors, especially older adults.

The agency also advised wearing proper clothing, hats and gloves when traveling outside and avoiding the use of grills or generators indoors.

Proper shelter should be provided for people, pets, pipes and plants.
