WILLITS, CA., 12/3/25 – Actors of all experience levels are invited to audition on Wednesday for the opening show of the Willits Community Theatre’s 2026 season: “The Importance of Being Earnest.”
A witty and fast-paced satire, “The Importance of Being Earnest” skewers Victorian manners, identity, and the absurdities of romance and social status. Actors should bring strong comedic timing, verbal agility, and a feel for author Oscar Wilde’s sharp, clever humor.
The production is casting a full range of roles, from the witty leads Jack and Algernon to the romantic Gwendolen and Cecily, the iconic Lady Bracknell, and several supporting comedic characters including Miss Prism, Dr. Chasuble, and household staff. Roles are available for people aged 18 to 75.
The performance will take place Friday, Saturday and Sundays starting Feb. 20 through March 8.
Auditions take place Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the theater (37 W. Van Lane, Willits) at 6 p.m., with callbacks on Thursday evening.
Full role descriptions and audition details are available on the theater’s website at https://www.wctperformingartscenter.org/auditions.
