MENDOCINO CO., 12/2/25 – The Mendocino County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services Department will hold a town hall Wednesday to discuss how behavioral health services can be improved in the county.
The town hall is organized by the Mendocino County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services Quality Assurance Department and will be held at the Behavioral Health Regional Training Center in Redwood Valley.
“Members of the public, consumers, family members, service providers, and community agencies are encouraged to attend the meeting to ask questions, share ideas, provide feedback, and give recommendations for improving the behavioral health system of care in the community,” according to a statement from the department.
Behavioral Health and Recovery Services also wants to hear from community members about their experiences with local mental health programs and where they think improvements can be made.
The meeting will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3 at the Behavioral Health Regional Training Center at 8207 East Road, Redwood Valley. To receive a link to attend virtually, send an email to Robin Harris at qaqi@mendocinocounty.gov.

Did you notice the time when this is being held? 2-4 pm! Not a good time for many working people, people who have to pick up their kids. I saw this so many times when I worked in behavioral health in Mendocino County. County behavioral health or some other agencies is required to have community input but the meetings are usually not at a good time. But they can then say that they got input from the people who were there!
And they often have pre-determined what they need to say so it fits what they want to do anyway. I’ve seen times when community members HAVE turned up and somehow they think their input will be valued but then they discover it isn’t.
