Dear Editor:
Hey all! The trees downtown on School Street are the most beautiful and wonderful thing about Ukiah. If they go away, it’s going to be like what they did to McDonald’s, take away all the fun, beauty and nostalgia and turn it into a bank lobby. When does it end?
Fix the sidewalks around them and keep the beauty for f#ck’s sake.
Is this about a Ghillotti Construction Co. venture already signed?? Haven’t they already f#cked up our streets and caused gas leaks and taken forever to do “their jobs”? I work nights and drive by them and there’s literally like one person doing something and 14 people just in a circle bullshi#ting, leaving huge bumps in our roads and huge pavement disparity. Let’s do better.

I also would like to see upgraded utilities along this street too. New trees could be put in as replacement and possibly more trees with the new remodel of the street layout.
How about a plant that is native to the area. Drought tolerant. And maybe something that is evergreen. Year round. Less mess. Less maintenance. Less invasive. If you ask most any one who lives here, majority can not afford to shop on school street regularly, daily, even weekly anyway. The trees as they are make for a good photo and cast some shade. For the remaining months they are a nuisance.
