MENDOCINO CO., 11/27/24 – All state-maintained highways in Mendocino County are open again after an atmospheric river brought record-breaking rain last week.

The first to close was state Highway 1 between Point Arena and Manchester due to the Garcia River flooding on Friday.

On Saturday morning, state Highway 175 closed in Hopland due to the Russian River reaching flood stage, followed by state Highway 128 in Anderson Valley due to the Navarro River flooding.

All three closures have been lifted according to Caltrans, which oversees all three highways, including the decision to close and open roadways due to flooding, mudslides and other major incidents.

Caltrans also manages state highways 20 and 162, as well as U.S. Highway 101.

Motorists can monitor highway conditions by visiting https://quickmap.dot.ca.gov/ or https://roads.dot.ca.gov/roadscell.php. Motorists can also call 1-800-427-7623 for current road conditions.
