William Allen Evers gets 25-to-life in state prison with sentence to begin immediately

“Good luck to you, Mr. Evers,” Mendocino County Superior Court Judge Keith Faulder said at this morning’s sentencing hearing.
Evers was originally charged with attempting to murder Deputy Thomas Kelly on May 12, 2021, but as part of his plea deal that charge was reduced to assaulting an officer with a deadly weapon and all the other charges were dismissed.
Evers is being held on $2.5 million bail and facing charges of attempted murder of a sheriff’s deputy and five counts of burglary.
William Evers was wanted for attempted murder of a peace officer and at least five burglaries.
