The chase began because the suspect’s car was believed to be involved in multiple burglaries. Speeds of over 100mph were reached, the Willits PD deployed a spike strip, the suspect fired on police, police did NOT return fire, and the chase was ended on foot.
The vehicle chase appears to have started in Ukiah and wound up in Willits, the suspect is now in custody. He fire shots out the window, but police did not return fire.
The man is described as alive but in surgery. It appears that he fled from a traffic stop.
The following is a November 16 press release from the Ukiah Police Department. The Mendocino Voice has not independently confirmed any of the information. On November 11th at about 2359 hours, a UPD officer attempted to perform an enforcement stop on a grey GMC Jimmy, traveling westbound on East Gobbi Street.
Included below is a November 9 press release release from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office. The Mendocino Voice has not independently confirmed any of the information. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty. Around 7am on November 8, MSCO officers were notified that 29 year old Mickey Hill, a suspect wanted on several outstanding warrants, was at the Sherwood Valley Casino. Responding officers identified Hill in a vehicle approaching the intersection of Highway 20 and Blosser Lane, where they attempted to initiate a traffic stop and activated emergency lights.
