Vegetation fire breaks out south of Willits (update 1:35pm)
UPDATE 1:35 p.m. — Resources are being recalled from the fire. We know that at least one air tanker, a helicopter, and a bulldozer have all left the scene, and readers report that a helicopter picked up at least one of the ground crews. The fire appears to be coming under control at this point. WILLITS, 6/30/19 — A vegetation fire has broke out in the vicinity of Blackhawk Dr. and Williams Ranch Rd., south of Willits and a few miles west of U.S Route 101. We know that multiple agencies have responded, including Cal Fire, and that there has been some aircraft activity, but do not yet have any information about the size of the fire or progress.
