Regular update on the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors.
Sheriff Allman plans to send out deputies on mental health crisis calls only when the threat of violence is present.
Have an opinion about the county’s mental health services? The public is encouraged to attend two meetings this month.
A BHAB finance meeting in Ukiah on Nov. 29 and a MHSA meeting on Nov. 30 in Covelo.
Dear Editor:
At the Mendocino County Behavioral Health Advisory Board meeting on October 19, 2016, an open public discussion was held by the Board Members on local ballot Measures AG and AH, which also included a presentation by Sheriff Tom Allman on the opportunities passage of the measures could bring to mental health outcomes throughout Mendocino. After timely deliberation, the BHAB voted to support Measures AG and AH, to add a five-year temporary half-cent sales tax to fund the development, design, purchase, completion, equipment, and maintenance of mental health and drug/alcohol treatment facilities. The BHAB supports Measures AG and AH by the board’s vote as recorded in minutes and records. Thank you. Kate Gaston
