“The switch flips quick,” said a Lake Mendocino engineer of the “resource that is water, and also the hazard that is water.”
“We are excited by the benefits the lake will now provide in terms of water supply and boating,” the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said.
Storms have brought unusually high January water levels at the parched lake.
The Water Resources Development Act, which will provide billions in funding to update water infrastructure nation wide, passed unanimously in the House of Representatives on Tuesday.
