    • I once heard that Walt Disney wanted a Pygmy forest of his own, and attempted to transplant from here. Once the trees and plants were moved to “better” soil, they grew.

  1. Teresa is my local heroine. When I moved here in 1980, I took all her classes at the college of the redwoods, and repeated many of those classes so I could understand this magnificent ecosystem I chose to spend the rest of my life in. I remember way back when, she came to class -in the field- onher horse, with her daughter Briza in the saddle with her. Teresa is the finest teacher I’ve ever had..You don’t need to go to Harvard, Yale, etc. to find great instruction. Louise Mariana

  2. I was intrigued about how she was so strong and moved ever so brilliantly until she understood nature’s quest to survive no matter water the dangers of energy above and below.

  3. The northernmost parts of the Boreal Forest resemble these Pygmy Forests, but there are different factors at play there. I am fortunate to have visited both forests.
