MENDOCINO Co., 4/15/19 — In case you haven’t noticed, recreational cannabis is now legal in California, and this year’s 4/20 events reflect how mainstream legal cannabis has become. In honor of the holiday, businesses across town in Mendocino will be participating in a celebratory event on April 20, including workshops, farm tours, yoga, djs, glass-blowing, a joint-rolling olympics, and more as part of “Cannabis On The Coast.”
Organizers are highlighting the cannabis plant’s medical value by donating a portion of profits to the Cannabis Resource Centers of Mendocino County. Individual stores and organizations will be offering different discounts or specials that will include donations to the organization, which assists cancer patients in the county. Theresa Anderson, one of the event coordinators, noted that “Leonard Moore Cooperative will have tote bags for sale with proceeds being donated. Conscious Cannabis Yoga is a $15 suggested donation with proceeds being donated. Emerald Exchange will have a donation based (non-infused) bake sale during the speakers series. There will be quite a bit more going on as well throughout the village. Additionally, all proceeds of the Mama Grows Funk and DJ Tequioso concert, after costs, will be donated to the Cancer Resource Centers.”
